Lauren Damelian’s Spring/Summer 2013/14 titled Four Corners is our favourite collection from the designer to date. The line expertly explores the ideas of femininity and strength, and how these work together in symbiosis.
This season is definitely a departure for Damelian, and seems to be a bit of an evolution. Leaving behind the bold prints of collections past the designer is instead using contrasting textures to evoke a sense of depth within the pieces.
To me, there is nothing more feminine than organza, and Damelian uses this perfectly, with an emphasis on clean lines and textural box pleats. There is certainly references to female empowerment and sexuality in the high waisted hot pants and cheeky peeks of skin through sheer.
The collection is like a breath of fresh air wafting past your eyes (and into my wardrobe).
