These days I live vicariously through Instagram and Facebook, while planning a holiday with my beloved at the end of the year.
One of my favourite quotes ever is “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” – St. Augustine.
The world is full of excitement, adventure, new experiences and we would be remiss if we didn’t try and see as much of it as we can! I have five amazing places to tick off my bucket list which I have shared with you below, but I would love to hear what bucket list destinations you all have!
1. Santorini, Greece
Santorini is one of those must visit, glamorous destinations that makes us yearn for a trip to Greece.
Just the name Santorini evokes dreams of vivid azure waters, dazzling white houses on the hillsides, vibrant grey and red beaches, incredible sunsets and crazy nighttime adventures.
Need to cross this off my list. Stat.
2. Machu Pichu, Peru
South America and Machu Pichu is super high on my must see destinations. This World Heritage site is a pristine reminder of pre-colombian Incans that showcases some of the most beautiful, historic architecture and construction from the ancient world.
This is a history lovers paradise.
3. Ashigya Flower Park, Japan
Japan is well renowned for having some of the most incredible flower gardens in the world, and pictures of Ashigya Flower Park have gone viral on the internet in recent years.
One of the main attractions of this park is its Japanese wisteria, which gradually changes hue through the seasons blossoming in shades of pink, purple, white and yellow which conjures up images like those on slowly unfurled picture scrolls.
Simply breathtaking.
4. Petra, Jordan.
Petra is an architectural and historical wonder in Jordan, a city carved out of stone with a revolutionary water conduit system for its time.
The site has been the setting for many films and documentaries over the years, is a world heritage site and was named by the Smithsonian as one of the 28 places to see before you die. Need more of a reason?
5. The Northern Lights, Finnish Lapland
The Northern Lights, a common name for the Aurora Borealis is an incredible, world famous light display in the Arctic region best seen between September through to April.
You can even view the show in these AMAZING glass top igloos. Totally romantic.
