Mother’s Day is looming (May 13th for those of you who don’t know!) and the pressure to find my mum the perfect present is mounting.
Like many of you I am sure, I take great joy in buying presents for the people I love- almost more than I do receiving them.
Being an online gal through and through, I find it much easier to source pressies online than in store- you miss the lines, can shop from the comfort of your living room and can often score free gift wrapping… job done!
I generally get my mum a huge stack of gifts as it’s one of the only days of the year she lets us spoil her- I always make sure to reorder her favourite magazines subscriptions as part of her present.
Luckily for me, Magshop is giving away a $26,000 holiday to Tahiti and LA and all you have to do to enter is snap up a subscription for your mum…sold!
I thought I would put together my top ten gift ideas to make sure you are in Mum’s good books:
1. A Spa Treatment. Hands down best thing to give anyone really- who doesn’t love a massage, facial and pampering day.
2.Candles. My favourite are Glasshouse or Voluspa. If you want to go a little quirky, Insight has some really cool artistic candles too.
3. A Hermes scarf. Need I say more?
4. Macarons– these days there are aspiring Zumbo chefs on every corner, just do a little research into the best macaron buys for your city.
5. Dinner for two– I like to send my mum and dad on romantic dinners every now and then!
6. A pair of classic sunglasses. I always opt for Prada or YSL for my mum and Sunglass Hut has a huge range, plus they have stores across Australia.
7. A good book. My mother is an artist so I like to source lovely coffee table books to inspire her creatively- there are always some great book ideas over in Grazia Australia‘s shopping guides.
8. A photobook. It may sound a little cheesy but mums love cheesy! You can get one made at Apple online or other photo stores for relatively cheap- its a lovely memento to keep for years to come.
9. Flowers. Find out what your mums favourite flowers are, my mum’s are lilies or natives. Nothing brightens a room like a beautiful fresh bunch of flowers.
10. Breakfast in bed. Sadly I don’t live in the same city as my parents but when I do get to see them, this is a lovely way to say thank you for all the years of lifts from ballet and school lunches!
What are some of your ideas for awesome Mother’s Day gift ideas?
