While they may not be as well known around the country as the likes of Alex Perry and Toni Maticevski who showed their collections earlier in the week, last night the designers from labels in the Brisbane Arcade proved why they truly are some of the best in the country. It’s not often a show can make you sit forward in your seat, lusting after every piece that comes down the runway and even draw spontaneous applause from the audience, but that is exactly what happened at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane last night.
If you missed day one, catch up here: MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION FESTIVAL BRISBANE HIGHLIGHTS (DAY 1)
The show opened with a stunning collection from Tengdahl from which I would wear every piece. Daniel Lightfoot‘s exceedingly elegant collection of black gowns was so beautiful that it drew applause from the audience on two occasions and Bora‘s black and pink lace designs were truly exceptional. Pia Du Pradal, The Irma J Smith House of Fashion and Maiocchi all had absolutely beautiful pieces in their collections, but as always, Darb Bridal Couture could not be beaten. Renowned for his craftsmanship and attention to detail, Darb’s collections can make even the most independent of women start mentally planning their wedding instantly. Classic, elegant and just a little over the top, Darb was the perfect choice to close the show in spectacular style.
