Product Review: Le Tan “Wash Off” Tan

Product: Have you ever given up having a tan for an event because you forgot to get a spray in time, or have stayed up till midnight tanning only to realize you are a patchy mess in the morning?

Enter, instant tanning, which has gradually been improving over the last few years. My latest fave obsession is Le Tan’s WashOff Tan which is an instant tan that comes in Bronze, and Deep Bronze.

I trialed the Bronze, because I am naturally pretty pale and I didn’t want to look crazy.

So lets get down to it. There are a few things I really hate about fake tans, especially instant ones. They usually rub off on your clothes and hands. And if you get rained on, they start to run (not a good look!).

When I first sprayed it on, I almost had a heart attack. It looked VERY brown. But once I used my buffing mitt to blend it in…the colour faded and softened to look natural. Once its on, it doesn’t come off without soap and warm water. Once its dried completely, there is pretty much no transfers if you are wearing white or a light colour, which is so freaking amazing. It dries pretty quickly, the can says 60 seconds, but I like to leave it for around 5 minutes just in case (I’m anal like that!).

I sprayed myself before a day of meetings and events, to see how it would hold up. The tan held up the entire day, and into the night, and only came off in the shower at home. By that point I had almost forgotten it was fake! Since then I have used it several times before events or shoots and each time its been a godsend. The best part about this is you can see when you’ve made a mistake, and you can actually correct it by washing it all off and starting again…a luxury you don’t have with normal fake tans.

Packaging: The spray nozzle is easy to use, and the can is a great size. I would recommend doing this in a dry bathtub/shower as spray tans at home tend to go everywhere. I generally put an old towel down in the tub, spray myself and then wipe everything down after.

This stuff is great, is doesn’t smell, doesn’t turn orange, doesn’t get all over your clothes and has no shimmer in it!

I have scars on my knees from surgery and it even does a good job of covering them up.

This spray is perfect for a whitey like me in the warmer months.

I dunno, I just can’t quite come to terms with fake tans.
