As I mentioned to you in my post last week about joining the Katies Collective (you can catch up here) my assignment was to take pieces from the label’s latest offering and style them in my own way…
As the Katies range is constantly changing, there were literally dozens of pieces I could visualise integrating into my own wardrobe. Like most people, I’m a pretty simple dresser day-to-day and save elaborate outfits for special occasions (and even then it’s only sometimes!)
I’m looking for adaptable and fuss-free clothing that I can spruce up with accessories and heels. I don’t have a lot of time in the morning to piece together a runway-ready outfit each day, and whilst we’re all fashion-lovers here, I doubt many of you have the time to do that either?
So I am kicking off my first outfit post with a “cheat” outfit – Really just a super comfortable denim skirt and a floppy t-shirt, accented with the right accessories!
When the pencil skirt came back into fashion this season, I could not have been happier. For somebody who lives in denim, it is always great to find options that allow you to wear your favourite go-to’s in new (and need I say, sexy!) ways.
For a slightly retro look, I teamed this Katies denim skirt with a polka dotted t-shirt (also Katies), and red accessories (my own). The bright red heels and belt dress up the look and give the whole thing a little “POP”. Red lipstick was also a must. (If I hadn’t of run out of time, I would have also treated myself to slick of red on the nails, but alas..)
I would wear this look to meetings or casual work events, this is a very versatile outfit that I feel ladylike and comfortable in. The skirt is $49.95 and the t-shirt $29.95. I am wearing a size 8 in both items.
Anyway, hope you all enjoyed my first outfit post! Please let me know what you think in the comments below.
