Inspired by, Corinne Day – the now legendary photographer of the nineties inspired the approach for LIFEwithBIRD spring 2013, a collection that embodies the freer, emotive sense of that decade.
In keeping with the relaxed, more casual silhouettes that have been creeping into our lives, the references to the 90’s are clear in the necklines and mid lengths, oversized white t-shirts and vibrant leather jackets.
As always, LIFEwithBIRD is inventive and forward thinking, always unexpected yet still in keeping with the label’s signature aesthetic.
The beauty is in the attention to details, with a focus on things like washed silks that have been perfectly styled in this campaign have been mixed with industrial looking rough cottons for that casually chic nineties feel.
The jacket is both retro and uber modern- no mean feat by any designer. Its aesthetic speaks of the biker jackets of an era past, and even the cobalt blue references the nineties, but somehow a fresh cut and the hardware gives it a modern edge.
As always, the hero of the collection is the signature LIFEwithBIRD prints, which this season are clearly inspired by the animal kingdom- leopards and cheetah prints in particular.
So. In. Love.
