Popping a bottle of champagne, dressing up and gathering with friends during the Spring Racing carnival is a quintessential Melbourne experience. From Caulfield Cup to Stakes Day, there are a smorgasbord of race events to attend and a plethora of opportunities to let our hair down.
This year is of course a little different, and it’s really anyone’s guess right now as to whether the Spring Racing season will be spectator-free or otherwise.
So, in the spirit of finding little moments to celebrate and opportunities to dress up (even if just for your lounge room), we’ve pulled together a guide on what to wear this year. What to wear to Spring Races #1 – Wide Brim Hat
Planning a picnic spread for the races this year at home or your local park? All you need is the laptop set up with the livestream, a delicious platter of snacks and a bottle of bubbles to get the party started.
If you can’t bring yourself to put on your glam dress, don’t forget to wear a wide brim hat. Not only will it be a stylish nod to the racing season, it’ll keep you protected from the sun at the same time, so it’s stylish and practical all at once – what’s not to love! #2 – The Wedge Heel
What to wear to Spring Races so often comes down to footwear. You really need to ensure you can withstand the shoes you choose for the entire day.
So, make it cute but keep it comfy with a wedge heel. Whether you’re hitting the picnic lawns or cosying up on the couch, you can never go wrong with this style of heel.
