Home Inspiration: Karton

It’s almost impossible to believe you can sleep on a cardboard bed, unless you are an unfortunate soul who is down on your luck.

However Melbourne based group Karton has revolutionised the way we can see, and use cardboard. Their bright engineers do this by transforming high quality stacks of cardboard sheets into shelves, stools, chairs, tables and other quirky pieces for the home.

Imagine being able to pack up or re-arrange your living room without losing screws – or your sanity! Karton is affordable and 100% recyclable. It’s strong and it’s stylish. More importantly, there’s no need for a handyman – there are ‘how to’ assemble videos on their website!

The team at Karton understands that cardboard furniture is a new idea for most people to get their head around; so they are willing to answer any questions on their website and provide a return policy. But to be honest it ticks all the right boxes – environmentally friendly, quirky, durable and cheap. Winning!

They are cute but not very practical in the long term. What about cleaning? They would be destroyed if they got wet.

And they arent really that cheap, you could buy some from ikea for a better price.
