Denim has never been more on-trend that now, which is fantastic news if you’re a busy woman who doesn’t want to sacrifice on style. Comfortable, flattering, durable and versatile – with attributes like these there’s really no such thing as having too much denim in your wardrobe.
While denim will always be the reliable casual-wear staple we turn to, it is certainly no longer just reserved for the pointy end of the week. With new silhouettes hitting the shelves of leading Aussie brands such as Witchery, Country Road, Just Jeans and Jeans West (all available at Westfield Eastgardens) and plenty of re-imagined ways to style denim happening in the streets, you really have your pick of ways to wear this wardrobe perennial this season.

1. True Blues
While black and grey denim still definitely deserve a place in your wardrobe, quintessential indigo denim is THE way to wear your jeans this season. In line with the vintage vibes that have been sweeping fashion lately, we are getting back to colour basics. From deep indigo with contrast stitching, faded cornflower or steely raw denim, it’s all about the classic shade.

2. Wide-Legged
Relaxed fit, wide-legged jeans are giving our much-adored skinnies a run for their money, which is just what you’ll want to hear if you’re all about comfort AND style. With a snug fit across the hip and tummy and a forgiving leg silhouette, wide legged jeans ingeniously make your legs appear more elongated whilst your waist will appear smaller.
Style wide-legged denim jeans with a softly tucked-in shirt or fine knitwear, overlaid with a cropped jacket. Add comfortable platforms, or this season’s must-have: the sneaker, and you’re instantly updated.

3. Borrowed
First it was the boyfriend jean (which we’re still loving by the way), followed by the girlfriend jean, but keep an eye out for an even more androgynous way to wear to jeans – and that’s with unisex styling.
When you’re shopping for a new pair, keep an eye on slim straight-legged jeans (or even peruse the men’s section) for a cut that’s modern without being skin tight. Don’t forget to size up for even more slouch.

4. Double Denim
Double-denim has morphed out of the realm of street style gimmick, and its now a bonafide style statement in it’s own right. Double-denim works especially well when the temperature drops: it pairs perfectly with black, it keeps you warm, and it can be dressed up with heels in an instant.
Feminise your double-denim look by adding a silk camisole or lace bralet underneath, and add delicate jewellery and your favourite pair of strappy heels on top.
