Christian Dior Fall Couture 2012

Hmmm is all I can really say about the latest Christian Dior Couture collection. After the dramatic leaving of John Galliano there was a lot off anticipation at how the label would cope in the wake of them still to decide on who is to take over the creative helm. With strong rumours that the director Bill Gaytten (who teamed with first assistant Susanna Venegas to bring us this latest collection) will be taking over Galliano’s position, that dream may have just been shattered after showing a collection that was much less than impressive.
The collection was not taken well within the industry with an almost silent applause at the end of the show. Style.com calling the collection “a misjudged effort to impress an alien thumbprint on an aesthetic that, for better or worse, is one of the fashion industry’s most clearly defined”

With the Dior/Galliano Era officially over it will be interesting to see who will take over and hopefully bring them back into the spotlight for all the right reasons.

Now you be the judge, what do you think of the latest Christian Dior Couture collection?

There are some nice shades of colours- interesting. The stand out dress would be 2nd- 1st row, 1st- 4th row and 2nd and 5th- last row.

Not a fan, I like about four items and that’s it. They’ve tried to do Galliano without Galliano and it doesn’t work. They would have been better trying for a new angle, less wacky and more romantic or maybe something streamlined in complete contrast to Galliano’s OTT designs.
