Charlotte Gainsbourg is quite obviously the belle of Balenciaga as well as close friend of creative director Nicolas Ghesquière.
The latest fragrance, Balenciaga Paris L’Essence as a scent that is designed to eliminate the line between male and female scents.
According to Ghesquière “Green fragrances are traditionally male, like eau de cologne…However, the key to Balenciaga Paris is violet leaves. I wanted to draw on these almost conflicting inspirations for women.” (HarpersBazaar.com.au).
