The addictive, ephemeral social media app Snapchat is no longer just for sharing glimpses of your life with friends and family. Celebrities, stylists and brands galore are now uploading their enviable stories to a following of millions.
If you’re a newbie, or simply looking to expand your friend list, here’s our BWA-approved list of who to follow on Snapchat:
Straight from Sephora HQ to your phone, you’ll be treated to previews of upcoming products, vibrant lipstick swatches, giveaways and all things beauty. Come fashion week time, you’re also privy to behind the scenes hair and makeup action.
Blake Lively: livelybk
While there are a tonne of celebrities to choose to follow, Blake Lively’s account is a serene look into a star-studded life, with lots of cosy at-home snaps that feel genuinely down to earth.
The iconic British brand is never late to the party, with an impressive account that recently shared live behind the scenes peeks of their Spring 2016 campaign, shot by Mario Testino no less. You’ll probably spot Cara Delevingne here and there too!
Laurel Pantin: lapantin
Fashion Editor (Teen Vogue, Glamour and now Sweet) and stylist Pantin knows how to take a great selfie, but her Snapchat stories are also full of food, lifestyle and fashion, making for a great balance that’s never boring.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: rosieh-w
An avid snapper, RHW details all. Her followers are lavished with snaps of her step-by-step makeup regime, her sausage dogs, food, recipes and more.
Kyle Anderson: kyleeditor
Editor of Marie Claire, Anderson is all about big shades and big names. If he’s not front row at a fashion show, he’s scouting out the next big thing in accessories or getting snapped for his street style, all while taking you along for the ride.
Leandra Medine: man_repeller
Injected with a healthy dose of her self-deprecating humour and plenty of emojis, the founder of the fashion blog Man Repeller snaps herself in the office, at NYFW and throughout her daily goings on (with plenty of cameos from A-list fashion icons.)
The Cut: the.cut
For an access-all-areas pass into the style world, this is the account to follow. The Cut’s editors take you on an up-to-the-minute tour of runways, new trends and street style.
Casey Neistat: caseyneistat
Entrepeneur, filmmaker and all round cool guy Neistat has mastered the art of the entertaining snap. His hectic bi-coastal life, celebrity buddies (think Karlie Kloss) and daily adventures are sure to hook you, and his wife Candice Pool is the creator of the coveted Finn jewellery label.
Rachel Zoe: thezoereport
While it’s not a personal account, thezoereport is a bounty of fashion snaps that will inspire you and possibly send you into a click-frenzy of online shopping.
Get your culture fix with a twist. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s LACMA account is a constant stream of their collection highlights with a comedic edge, fun filters and reams of pop culture references.
Snapchat is further connecting us to fashion, beauty and culture in real time, so even if you’re across the other side of the world you can enjoy peeks into international fashion weeks, product launches and celebrity shenanigans.
Which Snapchat accounts are you following? We would love to know in the comments.
