Trend To Try: Slicked Back Hair

Are you ready for a change from those voluminous cascading curls you see everywhere and that ubiquitous “effortless beach hair“? (We too were guilty). Are you tired of cajoling your hair into something that was designed for a Victoria’s Secret Angel who just woke up? Or maybe you have short, fine, (or just plain stubborn) hair that won’t play along with your wavy wishes no matter how many sea-salt sprays and voluminising mousses you throw at it?

If you are any of these, or just want something more modern, more streamlined and a little different, consider, Slicked Back Hair. If you’ve been wary of trying this hair style before, take a browse through our inspiration gallery and see if you’re not even just a little bit tempted to give it a go next time the occasion calls for it. Swipe on some winged liner, and a bold red lip (I can’t get enough of the Rosie and Kendall examples) and you are good to go!

Best reserved for special events (though the more nonchalant slicked back looks work for the office too), this hair idea ranges from wet-look slick through to high and dry back-combed styles. This modern approach to “going out hair” can be easily adapted to suit your hair type, haircut, face shape and occasion.

What do you think of the slicked back hair look? Love it or loathe it? Let us know in the comments below!
