Planning a wedding is fun. But you know what’s even funner? Planning a honeymoon. That’s because by the time you’ve finished crying over the fact that you wedding day is over and nobody’s created technology (yet!) that will allow you to travel back in time, you can canoodle for a small moment with your new husband somewhere romantical…while everybody continues to shower you with free champagne.

Because that’s really how this whole wedding system works, right?

Anyway, that’s why today we thought we’d chat about some of our favourite honeymoon destinations. So if you’re planning a wedding, or just in dire need of a holiday you can start to save your pennies. Or at least close your eyes and dream.

And of course we’re going to start with one of our fave. honeymoon destinations that we’ve featured (and have a promotion deal for) in Issue 4, Bora Bora.

You can snap up a copy of our current issue here if you want in on the deal.

Bora Bora is one of those locations that we recommend everyone visit at least once in their lifetime. It’s not only the most perfect place to switch off and unwind but it’s also one of those locations in the world where you can sleep and wake up in an over water bungalow…. then pretty much roll over and fall into the ocean. Pretty rad right? There’s a reason why people call it heaven on earth, so if you’re planning a super luxe getaway then this one’s for you.

New York. If you’re after a city escape there’s no better place than the big apple! And with so many places to eat, shop and party we bet you’ll never get bored. The only downside about this location is that you might need at least a few weeks here to see and do all the things the city has to offer. Take a walk through Central Park, shop at Saks Fifth Avenue, indulge yourselves at Magnolia Bakery and the list goes on. But you better take flats because you’ll be doing a heck of a lot of walking.

Paris. The city of love. How could you not want to escape to this city while you’re both still in a super loved up phase. You could plan a romantic dinner at the Eiffel Tower, travel to Versailles, or just grab yourselves the best ever baguettes, croissants, cheese, chocolates and wines and celebrate your brand new status as husband and wife!

Peru. For all the adventuring couples out there, this is one heck of a honeymoon destination for you! Fly into Cusco and plan a three-five day trek to Machu Picchu and go from there. You can also bus it to this wonder of the world if you’re not planning on staying there for long enough to do the trek. Although the trek once you get there will make the view all the more worth it!

Japan. It’s pretty close to Australia and the food is insanely good. Spend some time in Tokyo and make a trip to Tokyo Disneyland or head in and see what some of the real Japan has to offer in Kyoto. Make sure you bring some extra cash and an empty suitcase to shop up big too! And depending what time of year you’re travelling in you might be able to get in a little skiing time on the slopes. Cherry Blossom season in Japan is also so romantic and pretty you might never want to leave.

But that’s what a honeymoon is all about right? Enjoy it!
