The Best and Worst Dressed At The Grammy Awards?

As you all know the fashion runway of the music industry, the Grammy Awards was held in Los Angeles on Monday afternoon our time, and the glamorous men and women who provide the soundtrack to our lives flaunted their wares as only the Hollywood A-List know how to.

We mentioned before that CBS tried as they might to tame the ladies but some clearly refused to be restrained with J-Lo and Kelly Rowland (both pictured) in particular cheekily opting to ignore their requests. Oh and there was an awards show  on in the background or something.

The Best Red Carpet Looks:

Rihanna

Seen cuddling up to her controversial boyfriend Chris Brown (who apparently wore an all-white tuxedo to help him find inner peace…uhhh) the songstress was divine in a custom red Alaïa dress that matched her skin tone beautifully. She looked picture perfect and completely effortless, a refreshing change from some of the more bling-bling outfits we have been accustomed to seeing her in. Later on during the Bob Marley tribute, Rihanna performed in a cream bedazzled two piece that was homely but glamorous, if that’s at all possible.

Beyonce

Breaking the mould and opting for a business-like jumpsuit in lieu of the usual designer dress, Bey-Bey a.k.a Sasha Fierce looked fierce indeed, everything she would have wanted to be in the wake of “that photo” going viral and causing her a little embarrassment (why we’ll never know, hear her roar!).

Kaley Cuoco

Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco opted to go with a “CBS friendly” tuxedo jacket with gold sequin and beading detail with leather pants which looked utterly amazing, proving to everyone that a dignified look can steal the spotlight on any red carpet.

Kimbra

Our favourite Jamie Lee created this couture, silk tulle dress confection for Aussie favourite Kimbra to mixed reviews. Ours? We love it!!

The Worst Looks On The Red Carpet (but still gorgeous people):

Carrie Underwood

It’s probably a little unfair to put her here because she was pretty close to getting into the best list with the black gown she wore to accept her award for “Best Country Solo Performance” but the light-up dress that looked like an eighties wedding gown that she wore during her performance was in stark contrast.

John Mayer

John Mayer’s navy blue velvet dinner jacket/bow tie combo, coupled with his haphazard hair style and 5 o’clock shadow made him look like his mother had dressed him for his high school formal. Kudos for the guts though.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry chose a simple green Gucci gown that in theory looks great. In practice the proportion of breast to dress ratio is out of control. With so much skin covered up everywhere else, and then Katy’s undeniably breasts popping out of her keyhole, something just isn’t sitting right.

Gotta disagree on a couple of these. Don’t like some of the best dressed and like some of the worst!!
