2011’s Rosemount Australian Fashion Week officially kicked off yesterday at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Circular Quay, Sydney. Fashion week virgins like myself were flung into the festivities in a manner that made no concessions for hesitation.
Show after show incredible designs graced runways and it was obvious that both the long standing and the up-and-coming Australian designers have the gumption required to keep their heads above the fashion seas. It was easy to be saturated by the talent present but a good (yet short) night’s rest provided the restrospective vision required to select our favourites of the day.
Arnsdorf‘s magenta tailored silk shirt and mint green cropped pants,
my favourite colourblocking example from Day1.
Alex Perry‘s delicate lace floor length gown – the workmanship is incredible.
Karla Spetic‘s retro 70’s print skirt styled beatifully with a rich purple silk shirt.
Friend of Mine‘s double thigh high slit skirt impeccably worn by Rachel Rutt.
