Product Review: Results Laser Clinic Hair Removal

I have been contemplating laser hair removal for awhile, but just hadn’t gotten around to it. I had also heard horror stories of burns and scarring which deterred me from actively seeking out a clinic.

Luckily for me, the wonderful team at Results Laser Clinic contacted me to trial their Laser Hair Removal and not without trepidation I agreed.

I decided the most logical first timer treatment was underarms and secretly I rejoiced at the possibility that I would never have to shave or wax under there again (or do the sneaky mid work dash to Priceline).

There are a few things to remember when going in for treatment, firstly it doesn’t work 100% for everybody. Those with light or red hair will not experience a positive treatment process- this is something to do with the laser not being able to see the hair follicles (forgive me if I don’t know the technical details).

Secondly, DONT EVER do laser treatment and then go for a two hour jog followed by a session of sun baking. You will most certainly get burns and scars.

According to Paulina Saliba, owner of Results Laser Clinic and a professional laser specialist, you have to understand all the implications of a poorly conducted treatment. There is very little regulation for Laser treatments right now which is a little terrifying but Paulina and Results Laser Clinic have launched both a Laser treatment awareness day and a education facility to spread the word to beauty technicians.

To the treatment. I went through a very thorough introduction process explaining potential side effects, treatment success rates and what to do post treatment (no sun, excessive sweating or waxing).

The sensation of the first treatment was like a warm rubber band flicking against my underarm. The sensation was painful at times but not unbearable and the treatment lasted less than five minutes. Afterwards the skin was a little tender but I was plied with gels and creams to soothe the skin.

After the first treatment, I was told I would notice the hairs growing out again which I did. Growing is actually the wrong word as they are really just falling out of the follicles. A week later and I was almost completely hairless!

I had my second treatment this week and the sensation was way less painful and even shorter than the last. I was literally in and out in fifteen minutes which was a good thing as I had to dash off to work.

The first few treatments come in four week periods and then six weeks after that, and I wholeheartedly believe by the end of the treatment I will had absolutely no regrowth…amazing!

My tips for laser hair removal:

–           Make sure that the hair removal technologies provided are FDA approved.

–          Ask if the clinic offers technology that assesses the treatment/technology that will work best on you.

–          It is super important to make sure that the clinic provides you with a personalized service and individually tailored program developed for your skin and hair type

–          Trusted clinics generally provide a free consultation and assess your hair and skin type prior to scheduled treatments

STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLINIC IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR SKIN or being treated with any form of respect as a customer. I have spent thousands of dollars and gone to this clinic for 2-3 years and am disgusted at the service I have received over the last year. This company has had large staff turnovers and no longer has any ‘right’ to refer to themselves as reputable or trust worthy clinic.

In 2018 I began laser hair removal for full face (purchasing 6 sessions, then another 6). I had my eyebrows synched twice and my hairline. After three sessions, I complained about having horrible acne reactions to which I was told that this was a completely normal response and to continue my sessions. I often had my therapist be swapped upon arrival with no warning even though I had booked in with a specific therapist purposely AND worked around her schedule as I thought it would be better to see one person who can monitor my hair growth and skin reactions. After finishing my first 6 sessions at Knox, I purchased another 6 sessions (and some more packages for other areas) and moved to Fountain Gate to give this company the benefit of the doubt, assuming Knox was a bad store and it wasn’t the fault of the company.

I was told approximately 8 months after I had paid off a package and had 1 package to go before finishing it off that I owe the clinic short of $200. I could hardly remember and asked the clinic why they had told me multiple times I had paid off the package only to turn around and say I hadn’t so many months later. They couldn’t provide an answer or even undertake a basic accounting exercise to figure out where the missing $$ was coming from on their books. I even dealt with head office customer service who referred to it as ‘unfair’ and agreed with me that I could have paid amounts they didn’t record in cash but that it was out of her hands and she would talk to their accounting team. It’s been two months ago and they have made no attempt try rectify the fault. I have spoken to them numerous times since, despite the fact that i’m not the one who should be checking on the progress of this and they still can’t figure it out.

Worst of all, after 12 sessions of full face I have had accelerated hair growth. I understand that acceleration of hair growth can happen in some cases but I would expect not to be constantly assured that my reactions (which were severe) and lack of results were completely normal and that I should just ‘keeping buying more sessions’.

I have complained in every session (that i attended routinely and on time) that my hair growth was becoming worse and my reactions were abnormal and lasting much longer than a few days after my treatment. EVERY SINGE TIME I was given a generic response that i should simply purchase more sessions and stick it out as face is a hormonal area, or I should try exfoliating more. AT NO POINT was I offered a skin consultation or taken very seriously. Once my 12 packages finished, I decided not to purchase anymore for 5-6 weeks to see how the hair grew back. I was completely shocked at the level of accelerated hair growth and organised my own skin consultation after suffering serious self esteem issues, which I thought was much more appropriate than the ‘one complimentary session of full face’ customer service tried to offer up. The only thing I am thankful for is the honestly I received during that session that I was the worst case of accelerated hair growth they had ever seen walk through their clinic. I was told that their laser hair removal machines were wholly inappropriate for my skin type on my face, and I should be using a YAG machine which they didn’t have in store (and only have in one store far away from my home). I was also told my legs were treated by their therapists at a level heat that was ‘dangerous’ for my skin. The senior skin consultant wrote a detailed report of her findings on my file and issued it to head office, as well as photos of my hair growth and skin condition.

This was escalated the customer service manager at head office who promised me a phone call from the regional manager by Friday (I had called on Wednesday) and a direct line of communication on her work mobile. I have been ignored for nearly two weeks and nobody senior has contact me. I would have thought that in a competitive service based industry, keeping customers happy after royally screwing up would be a priority. I have tried to give this company the benefit of the doubt, having been their long term customer for so many years, and have been treated so disgustingly.

This clinic has completely lost its touch after it’s staff turn overs and only care about securing more of your money rather than providing a high quality effective treatment or LISTENING to their clients. Not hard to understood considering their own head office triple books clients and expects the girls in store to just ‘figure it out’ on the day. Most reputable laser clinics (like Laser Clinics Australia who have been great) will do a price match, so don’t be fooled by their flash sales, and STAY AWAY if you care about your skin, money, or being treated well. Go to pretty much any other laser clinic who actually know what they’re doing.

Yes, you are correct. At least my experience confirms that. I have been doing laser tx (face) over five years and after every six weeks the hair is back

I went into Results Laser Clinic and asked what was recommended to make my skin clearer and brighter. I was recommended chemical peels and microdermabrasion. I paid almost $500 in under 6 months and I was in absolute utter shock at how appalling my skin was and that it not improved but infact gotten SO much worse after this period of time… I have many photos to prove this. After seeing a doctor I was put on a 2 month course of antibiotics to treat what he said was infected acne on my face as a result of their treatments ( I have never had acne before!!)

2 months post treatments, my whole face is now covered in tiny pimples everywhere and infected acne on my chin, which will most likely leave permanent scarring on my face. It is utterly disgusting. I have been appalled at the service I have received after expressing extreme concern about my face. No staff member has shown any sympathy or care towards me what so ever. When I explained my situation I was so devastated but was not contacted by management for 2 whole weeks after I had complained. When I was finally contacted I was told what was happening to my skin was normal (if you saw the photos you would know it’s far from normal… why would anyone pay $500 for infected acne and scarring on their face) and was told they couldn’t see me for yet another week. When I did go in the lady who saw me (yet another different person who claimed to just be “the messenger” and would not give me contact to the person above her) had not even seen the photos and I was told “there was nothing they could do”.

Results Laser have completely ruined my face, my confidence and my self esteem… and I can not believe how disrespectful and uncaring staff could be.

I have since heard from other clinics and people that what they use on skin is way too strong and their staff are not properly trained. It is DISGUSTING they are getting away with doing this to people. I have never had such an appalling an experience/service with a company ever. They do not care about people, only your money. I have never been so upset about something before.

Do not go here. I will NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone.

As a former employee of results, I highly recommend looking else where for laser hair removal or any treatments for that fact! The company itself only cares about sales and getting people in and out quick, no care taken. If you did not make sales from people you were spoken down to. Another point is none of the girls are qualified or properly trained in any treatment. I have seen permant damage caused by laser and skin treatments. It’s worth spending more money and getting a service by a therapist trained correctly.

I have had a few bookings for laser hair removal with this company at their Melbourne CBD office. The first appointment I went to I had no issues, and the results were great. Ever since then I have had so many issues with them. The next time I went in I did not have as great results with laser hair removal, I raised my concerns with the staff member who said the first appointment I had with them the lady used the machine on maximum temperature which can actually do severe damage to the skin!! I was appalled by this!!
The next time I went in for my appointment (as I had prebooked them) I waited in front of their clinic on Elizabeth St in the city. There was a sign on the door saying ‘Therapist in treating room, please knock’. This sign has been there before so I waited there for about 20 minutes and was about to call them when someone who works in the same building advised me they have moved. There was no sign on the door, I was not emailed, called or sent a text. It was another 20 minutes walk to their new clinic and my parking would have expired by then. They did not call me. I emailed them my disgust in this and they said I cannot get a refund for my appointment as it was “cancelled” within 24 hours of the booking. I also have more appointments coming up as I booked them in a package, which she also told me I cannot get a refund for packages. I was not made aware of this when I booked it at their clinic. I advised it was their fault but they would not budge. Absolutely disgusted in their service, do NOT recommend anyone book appointments with them!! They are now ignoring my emails, and when I call to speak to a manager she is always ‘unavailable’. Book anywhere but with Results Laser, they will just take your money and don’t care how they treat customers.

[Watch out for this clinic- Result laser clinic in Sydney CBD ]

Seriously annoying unprofessional clinic. They keep changing my appointment with our my consent and ignoring all my inquiries. The average waiting time are 30min even if you have an appointment made a few weeks ago. They push to sell a large package of treatments, but do not commit 0% to their customers. If there is other ppl suffering from their insincere service, we shall consult with NSW Fair Trading.

I would never ever go to Results Laser Clinic. I have darker skin and they put me on the wrong laser. I had burns on my bikini line by the second session and was then transferred on to the YAG. No apology nothing for putting me through such distress! I wanted to make a big deal about it but I didn’t because they assured me I would be taken care of and the scars would be treated if they didn’t go away. 5 months later and all I’ve got from them is the worst customer service! They move my appointments around and then blame me for not turning up or blame their booking system. They are so inflexible and rude and Im just over it!! Unfortunately I’ve paid them upfront for 6 sessions and I’ve got one session left. Just want my money back and will never step in to their clinic again. All they have done for me is scar my bikini line and then put me through a lot of stress.

I recently got a laser treatment done for my arms and legs at Simply Laser in Brisbane.

The staff is very courteous and it took about 6 sittings for me.
I would recommend this place to anyone in Brisbane who wants to opt for laser skin treatments.

I’m thinking of getting a bikini treatment done next year!

Never ever go to result laser clinic. The worse customer service ever. They change your appointments without any notice and then fails to provide any reason. You never hear them apologise. Rather they say it is your fault. Very rude and unprofessional. Not at all happy with the service.

Don’t go near Results Laser clinic! They are completely dreadful when issues arise and have no sense of ownership, especially their area manager Paulina who needs customer service training. I was also short changed in treatments and when I asked for a log of treatment dates, they refused to provide this.

The clinic changes and cancels appointments without notification on a regular basis, constant lies and excuses oh and they claim to make a note to learn from errors but they denies conversations or errors. Staff are rude with no customer savvy skills and very focused on generating revenue. Try other laser clinics which have good reviews like Nad’s or Laser Clinic itself.

I would recommend laser treatement but this Results Laser Clinic as the treatment provider.

Not sure I understand why you have to go back more than once if the laser zaps the hair follicle into submission. Do they miss some…on purpose or otherwise?

    • Reply Greg Thursday 30th June, 2016 at 5:07 pm

Only works on hair follicles that are in growth phase. If hair not actively growing it does not work

I would love to get laser hair removal done. I don’t think it would work on my legs unfortunately as the hairs are blonde, almost see through, but the armpits would be great! I’m glad to hear you had a positive experience and I think I might have to take the leap of faith, it would be worth it to never have to shave again!
