Despite being spoilt for choice when it comes to hair salons in Sydney, it is always SO difficult to know who to trust your locks to! Promising everything from the silkiest tresses to the most beautiful balayage, finding the right salon for your style can really be a minefield (and it can end in tears if you don’t do your homework!)

Uncertain of where to go for my much-needed pre-MBFWA hair reboot, I sought opinions from several hair-obsessed friends and did a little instagram research in the hope of finding a new hair hero. Thanks to some glowing personal recommendations and the knowledge that the likes of Sydney Fashion Blogger trusts them with her enviable mane, I settled on Pierre Haddad Hair Management, and I wasn’t disappointed.
An extremely buzzy full-service salon that’s nestled within the glamourous Hilton Hotel, Pierre Haddad is a popular, award-winning salon with good reason. Committed to precision cutting, expert colouring, straightening, hair extensions, styling and blow-drying, Pierre Haddad offers clients a total hair and beauty experience in their well-appointed, stylish salon.
My visit: After describing what I was hoping to achieve with my hair during the booking process (bright and bold balayage + very choppy bob, please) I was booked in with Eric, a stylist with nearly 20 years experience who was specifically assigned to me for his expertise at creating this kind of look.
Upon arriving at the salon I was whisked into my chair, where the very lovely Eric and I got down to business! Putting me instantly at ease with his hair knowledge and super-friendly nature, Eric took the time to understand what I was after and make a few expert recommendations.
Once we agreed on the direction, Eric set to work on the balayage. Working quickly and confidently, Eric applied the mixture straight onto my hair with his hands which was a technique I hadn’t experienced anywhere before. Happily chatting the whole way through, it only felt like a few moments had passed before I was being whisked off again for a super-relaxing shampoo and head massage! (The Pierre Haddad-branded products from their ‘Charcoal’ range which were used at the basin were delicious-smelling as well.) Sadly my head massage eventually came to an end and it was back to the chair for my cut.

A few deft slices here and there by Eric, and soon enough I was coloured and snipped to perfection. A big and bouncy blow-out completed proceedings, followed by a few customary photos to document the outcome.
The result: fresh and bright colour which has just the right blend of boldness and wearability I was looking for, and an amazing cut that’s so easy to style myself at home in a couple of different ways (an added bonus.) I’ve received so many compliments on my new hair – some from complete strangers on the street asking for photos(!!) which is a testimony to the amazing service – and icing on the cake for me!
I had a fabulous experience at Pierre Haddad Hair Management and I can definitely recommend the salon to anyone wanting to walk away with many good hair days ahead of them.
