From the biggest celebrities, to the every-woman, ladies all over the world are obsessed with LASHES.
With simple mascara starting to feel like a throwback, and the standard pair of falsies feeling equally outdated, many women are onto the next wave of our quest for lash perfection: lash extensions.
But with the prices for quality lash extensions not coming in cheap, and with many inexperienced lash technicians jumping on the bandwagon, it can be difficult to know who to trust.
We tapped award-winning lash expert Lauren Lappin, the owner of ‘Allure Lash and Beauty Bar‘ (which was recently named one of the top five lash studios in the world) for her top five tips for choosing a reputable lash salon and achieving luxury lashes.
With Lauren and her team meticulously completing over 150+ sets of lashes each week, her salon, located in Albury NSW, has just been named as a top five finalist for the Lash Studio of the Year Award out of thousands of submissions around the world.
Says Lauren, “I am so excited at being named one of the top five specialist lash salons in the world. I have worked so hard to offer the highest quality lash treatments to our clients over the years and to be recognised internationally for this is nothing short of amazing!”
What sets Allure Lash and Beauty Bar apart is the fact that the salon specialises specifically in lash treatments, with Lauren and her team having an obsession with keeping up to date with all the very latest in lash training and developments.
(All of her artists hold memberships with Australian and international lash associations that uphold the highest standards for natural lash health, safety and cleanliness.)
So if you’re tempted to try lash extensions for the first time, or you’re wondering exactly what sets an ordinary lash salon apart from an amazing one, read on!
Lauren’s 5 Tips For Choosing The Best Lash Salon:
Tip #1 – Cheaper is not always better.
Don’t choose a lash artist based on price. You pay for what you get! A higher price will reflect all the training, experience and higher quality products that will be used. Lash extensions are a luxury service, so don’t expect to pay a bargain basement price for them.
Tip #2 – Research salons before you commit.
Look at a salon’s before and after photos, social media accounts and websites. Read reviews on Google and Facebook!
Tip #3 – Don’t expect a quick service.
How long will the full set of lashes take to apply? If it’s anything under 1-1.5 hours, run!! Lash extension application is a meticulous process, which requires time and perfect technique to achieve safe, beautiful results.
Tip #4 – Ask questions.
Your lash artist should have extensive knowledge about preserving your natural lash health, styling the lashes to suit your eye and face shape, irritations and reactions to lash extensions, and the use of different curls, lengths and diameters to create the best look for you. If you get this, you know you’re dealing with a fully qualified, experienced lash expert.
Tip #5 – Specialist salon versus full beauty service.
Does the salon specialise in lash extensions or is it just a side-offering to a whole host of other services they provide? Usually a specialist salon will be more experienced and have the knowledge and expertise to give you the best set of lashes you have ever had but if you get your lashes at a full-service salon, make sure you ask for their lash expert!
