Our home is more than just a building: it’s a feeling, an emotion, and a place of comfort and security. Therefore, it’s natural to think of new ways to improve our personal spaces.

However, designing a home or garden isn’t always the easiest thing to do. For gardens, according to shade sail manufacturers, you’ll need to think about patterns, textures, and a planting plan. For indoors you will need to balance your style and aesthetic desires against your lifestyle. Overall, the aim is to have a place that fits your life and makes you feel “at home”.

Here are 4 smart home and garden design ideas

#1 – Have a theme

It’s always best to work with a theme when it comes to home decor and outdoor space or backyard design. Not only will this make your final design look as if professionals with years of experience were behind it, it makes the entire design process easier.

For instance, when designing a small courtyard garden, your furniture and plant choices should be different from what you’d use to design a family backyard, for example. Another advantage of having a theme is that some furniture comes in sets, and you you can get better prices if you shop for them in bundles!

#2 – Hire a sustainable landscape architect

One of the most valuable landscape tips is to design your garden for sustainability. Dependong on where you live, you stand to elevate the value of your home. Whether you live in Darling Point in Sydney or Denver, USA, simply search for a local professional, ie Denver landscape design to help you come up with a sustainable design.

The landscape contractor will assess your property’s possibilities and problem areas and create design elements that will address them. They’ll also guide you every step of the way, from the selection of materials to plant choices and the best irrigation system, thereby saving you time and stress.

Consider incorporating concrete block bricks for garden edging as a stylish and functional addition. These versatile blocks not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of your garden but also serve as a durable and low-maintenance solution for creating distinct borders.

#3 – Add suitable lighting

Lighting is an easy way to add a little bit of magic to your space and you’ll be surprised by how quickly you can transform these areas with just a couple of twinkle light strands. For instance, a string of solar-powered bulbs in lanterns hung from trees or on a fence will give your garden an old-world vibe. You can shop online for a huge variety of outdoor lighting ideas and choose one that fits your garden’s theme.

But what if you don’t have a backyard? Transform your patio or deck into a garden area! This can easily be achieved by adding numerous potted plants all over the area, turning it into a beautiful oasis.

Pots are a great way to add some flexibility into your garden’s layout and they also act as decorative pieces. Pots allow you to get creative, you can mix and match different shapes, colour and styles for a truly unique look. Other alternatives to pots include metal tubs and buckets. Use a lick of paint to revive them but ensure that the finish will withstand weather changes.

#4 – Use ceramics to add pops of colour

While having natural colours in your garden is nice, some people prefer to spice things up a bit with a few feature colours. However if you don’t fancy planting colourful flowers, colourful ceramics are another great way to add pops of colour to your garden. These can be in the form of coloured ceramic pots, sculptures, fence adornments or water features.

Pretty sure some of us have better things to do than look forward to half naked photos of a heavily photo-shopped & air brushed celebrity, who probably spent 3 hours in hair & make up to get her looking that good.

Pretty sure she looks just like the rest of us without make up or spanks on!

    Just sayin’….
