10 Of The Best Pieces from the JPG for Target Collaboration

BY: VANESSA ROBERTS

Cheers could be heard everywhere late last year when the news broke that French fashion’s ‘Enfant Terrible’ Jean Paul Gaultier, was the next star to collaborate with Target Australia. These designer collaborations (which have previously included Missoni, Stella McCartney, Dion Lee and Dannii Minogue) are designed to make quality fashion affordable for every day Australians.

At the official JPG x Target media launch with fellow bloggers (L-R): Couture Caddy, MamaStylista, Christopher Haggarty, Sydney Chic Blog, and myself.

The exclusive 100-piece range (with prices that start from a mere $10) includes women’s, men’s and children’s clothing as well as homewares, shoes, lingerie, and nursery items. The designs combine Gaultier’s unique and quirky style with the Australian lifestyle and approach to fashion.

“Every time I’ve been to Australia I’ve been impressed by the laid-back, unstuffy confidence that Australians display with their fashion – it resonates with my design philosophy and has such synergy with my own approach to fashion and style,” — Mr Gaultier

I was lucky enough to be invited to a special advance showing of the range, and I have to say I was extremely impressed. The quality of the items on offer was amazing, and their trueness to the JPG aesthetic could not be disputed. The prices ($129 for a real leather mini skirt) or $79 for a signature denim jacket were extremely wallet-friendly as well.

The Jean Paul Gaultier for Target range is sure to be another huge hit, and it will be available online at target.com.au and in selected Target stores across Australia on March 10.
