If you’re bored of only seeing gender neutral, grasshopper-esque models in recent fashion shoots then Vogue Italia has provided a refreshing alternative for you this September.
Covering their latest issue is Brazilian supermodel Isabeli Fontana, and inside is a photo shoot that is so sexy, so feminine, and so forties that I’m aching to put on eyeliner and hot rollers in hope of recreating the look.
Inspired by the likes of Elizabeth Taylor and Sophia Loren, and shot by famed fashion photographer Vincent Peters; these images pay tribute to what is deemed as ‘traditional’ beauty. Isabeli looks stunning in vintage hues, feminine silhouettes, and a short, curly up-do. Granted – it’s not quite the hair-do most of us ladies are planning for this weekend, but we can appreciate a girl’s ability to make a crop work in her favour.
Regardless of whether ‘traditional’ style appeals to you or not, Italian Vogue (at the very least) have proved they can re-create the past in a beautiful, captivating, and wonderfully realistic way.
