#2 – Wine & cheese (ie Entertaining!)
There’s nothing like a good wine and cheese night in with the girls, and who doesn’t love a beautiful antipasto spread paired with our guilty pleasure of a chick flick, but decking out a platter paired with wine can really add up.
Applications like Vivino which boasts a collection of 24 million contributors, can help you pick the best bottle on your budget, so you can have all the taste without the price tag.
Or if you haven’t heard – Aldi’s French Côtes de Provence Rosé retails at $8 and won the shiny silver title at the International Wine Challenge over other much pricier competitors.
Or – pay a visit down to your local markets (in Melbourne we have the Queen Victoria Market and South Melbourne Market to name a few), where you’ll find beautiful locally owned delicatessens’ with a vast array of cheeses and in-house marinated olives or dips to select from. They also have regular deals such as 3 Cheeses for $10, which guarantees a selection that you and your purse can both agree on. Pair that with some olives and dip, and maybe a loaf of the Rustica sourdough bread at a bakery near by, and girls night is ready to go!
