How To Get Glowing Skin For Your Wedding

BY: VANESSA ROBERTS

It goes without saying that every bride wants to look and feel like the very best version of themselves on one of the most important days of their life – Their Wedding Day. Your wedding day is about happiness and having a glow, that radiates from within.

When I’m not behind the keyboard at BWA, I’m meeting brides one-on-one through my bridal jewellery label, ‘Glamadonna’. What I notice frequently is the stress and anxiety brides often face right before their wedding.

As a bride-to-be, you tend to worry about your dress being perfect, managing your in-laws, financial pressures, and of course how you’re going look (skin, hair, body, makeup, accessories…)

These worries, combined with a million other concerns invariably mount up leaving even the most low-key bride stressed and frazzled.

Unfortunately, these pre-wedding realities manifest in ways you most certainly do not want! Breakouts, erratic weight gain or loss, bloating, tired and lacklustre skin, dull hair…. Total no-glow zones.

So, if you want to get glowing skin for your wedding (ok, silly question), you need to concentrate on looking after your skin, your body and your mind.

We’ve come up with 4 ways to get glowing skin for your wedding that’ll really have an impact:

1. Dial up your skincare regime to GLOW:

Faux illuminators and highlighters are great, but the best glow (as we all know) is a natural one. Start laying the right foundations for your skin to glow around two weeks out via a targeted skincare regime. To save time and money, opt for a quality salon-style skincare solution you can easily do at home.

A great regime available is the much-talked-about Reversaderm range by Dr. LeWinn’s. Used in lieu of your regular skincare regime, the Reversaderm range tackles pigmentation, fine lines, pores, acne and sun damage in one easy-to-follow treatment cycle.

Consisting of a super-charged cleanser (the ‘Glycolic Clarifying Cleanser’), a salon-quality peel (the ‘micro-cellular age correcting peel’), a boosting serum (the ‘tri-collagen accelerating serum’), and a nourishing moisturiser (the ‘antioxidant regenerative cream’) this range is a sort of “next level” skincare solution that puts your skin on the fast-track to glow.

P.S I’ll be able to tell you a little more about how this product might help you get glowing skin soon as I am currently trialling it. (Make sure you check back for an update!)

2. Align your eating and drinking with your glowy goals:

Now is the time to pay special attention to what you are ingesting.

Whilst the temptation to reach for more coffee, wine, sugary treats or comfort foods may be strong (especially is you’re under stress), use your desire to “glow all over” as a reason to eliminate such things from your diet in the lead up to the big day.

Not only will your skin radiate-from-within across your entire body, you’ll feel much less bloated and sluggish as well, which is clearly never a bad thing!

3. Add flow to your glow with a massage:

Massage is the perfect way to reverse those wedding day nerves and rejuvenate body and soul in time for the big day. Most people carry stress in their shoulders, and this can cause more than just uncomfortable tightness, it can also be visible.

Don’t compromise the beautiful neckline of your gown by having a tense upper body that’s plagued with tension. Raised and/or lop-sided shoulders combined with poor posture are not what makes a glowing, radiant bride.

Find a qualified massage therapist who can tend to your stresses. (One hour per week over the course of a month is ideal.)

(Final Tip: why not consider instigating some “Bridal Party TLC”, as part of your bridal party prep? This way, you won’t ‘glow’ it alone!)

4. Set time aside to think and dream:

No matter how busy you are try to take an energising walk out in fresh air every couple of days in the lead up to your wedding day. Use the time to listen to your favourite tunes, or think about your dreams and goals.

Even the lightest exercise will assist the body to release toxins, stimulate circulation and clear the mind of worry. If possible, try to walk near scenery that inspires you – or water, as this will amplify the mental benefits.

Notes to brides:

Reversaderm are giving brides the chance to win amazing prizes. One main winner will receive a beauty consultation with a Dr. LeWinn’s skincare specialist as well as the full Reversaderm range for their entire bridal party. 10 Runners up will receive a 2-week Starter Kit of the Reversaderm range (one cycle of treatment.)
