The French Riviera was once again studded with stars on the red carpet but this time they were joined by fashion’s finest at a charity gala held by amfAR, which ended up raising US$25 million for AIDS which is an incredible achievement.

Favourites of the night included model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley who stunned in a gorgeous white Dior dress while Stacy Keibler wowed in an aubergine satin gown created by Zac Posen.

Known for her extravagant taste in fashion, Anna Dello Russo led the drama in a ruffled flamenco-style skirt and cropped top combo by Balenciaga.

Carrie Bradshaw aka Sarah Jessica Parker is front’s the June Issue of Harper’s Bazaar Russia.

Not letting anything slow her down, Parker is holding strong to her role as style icon, looking gorgeous in a set of monochromatic looks shot by Simon Upton.

While we always adore Sarah Jessica, and her role as Carrie will forever have a place in our hearts, we can’t help but feel that this shoot is a little stale.

Carine Roitfeld was recruited by Riccardo Tisci for the Fall Givenchy campaign to not only style, but star in it alongside her gorgeous daughter Julia Restoin Roitfeld.

Amanda Seyfried, has also been cast for the new campaign, as the new Very Irresistible Givenchy as well, its safe to say that Tisci is clearly a major fan.

Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, other stars of the campaign include Quim Gutiérrez and models Mariano Ontañon and Dalianah Arekion who channel a “gypsy” vibe in the shots that are reminiscent of his inspiration for the collection- travelling nomads who roam the world.

We have fallen head over heels for the Glassons Winter 2013 campaign titled ‘Escape’ which was shot by Tim Barber amongst the breathtaking backdrop of Queenstown, New Zealand (Glassons’ hometown).

Featuring models of the moment Anja Konstantinova and Teresa Oman the campaign was styled by Zara Mirkin and features a new direction for the brand which we are very excited about.

As you might have read in previous posts, I used to be a victim of the assassin known as Acne.

I recently took a trip to my local Clearskincare Clinics, which is one of many in Australia, a testament to the success and how well renowned the Clinics have become. This is a long review, but it is requires an indepth explanation so you can really get a feel for the procedure.

I was invited by the amazing team to trial their treatments, in particular their SGA Treatment, which permanently removes pimples and acne, the thought of which made me absolutely giddy.

The Experience:

The entire Clearskincare Clinics experience was brilliant and totally smooth sailing. I started by filling out a form which highlighted my concerns and skin care problems so they could be addressed in the session. One of the biggest indicators of a clinic whose products actually work is checking out the skin of those that work there. And I have to say each and every face was flawless.

Especially the lovely Loraine at Clearskincare Clinics who began by taking me through the history of the Clinics and taking off my makeup for the our initial consultation.

In simple terms, a special camera snaps three photos of you from several different angles and gives an incredibly in depth analysis of your skin’s current condition. I learned that my skin was resilient enough for treatment and that I NEED to wear more sunscreen. Sun damage was clearly apparent, especially through my nose and cheeks and was a definite visual wake up call to the potential skin cancer risk.

Once our assessment was over, the time was at hand to experience the SGA treatment. Miraculously, my face decided to produce a monstrous pimple on my cheek so I could really see the results first hand.

The SGA Treatment:

Overactive sebaceous glands are what cause acne and blackheads. We have over 1,000 sebaceous glands per square cm of skin and only a tiny percentage of these are effected by acne. Basically these are glands that sit below your skin at the base of hair follicles and scheme up dastardly ways to make breakouts happen.

So the idea of permanently removing pimples seems ludicrous right? We have always been at the mercy of our skin’s tendency to break out at the worst possible time, but now, no longer!

With absolute conviction I can tell you this treatment WORKS. Yep, I had my zits zapped by the Clearskincare Clinics and within the day the pimple was almost gone. Within two, it had disappeared. That was five days ago and it’s completely gone. For good (well so far, but I will keep you updated!).

So what is the treatment? Called Sebaceous Gland Ablation, or SGA, it works by using low intensity surgical diathermy to progressively shrink and destroy sebaceous glands effected by acne. I know, I know that sounds like a lot of jargon. In plain speak; the treatment uses a very gentle electric shock to destroy sebaceous glands which are producing acne or pimples. Diathermy is essentially high-frequency electromagnetic currents that are used to destroy those pesky glands.

The treatment is permanent, non invasive and doesn’t involve drugs. Often those drugs have side effects or can affect your skins balance levels.

The procedure:

If you have ever had laser hair removal you will most definitely be able to withstand the minor pain of SGA.

If you look closely at the needle used it is less than a hairs width wide and you cannot feel it. It is the “zaps” that cause you the discomfort which are surprisingly bearable. For me, the most painful was of course, the pimple itself, and then a few of the infected sebaceous glands surrounding it.

As it stands, in the calming bed at Clearskincare Clinics, you barely feel the needle go in and the few seconds that the treatment is in process per pimple are so quick you forget the pain almost instantly. Granted, for someone with serious acne, this would be a much more uncomfortable process.

Afterwards:

I had two supplementary treatments following my trial of the SGA. Loraine from Clearskincare Clinics was very focused on giving my skin the ultimate luxe treatment which included a skin peel which uses what is essentially a mild acid to get rid of dead tissue cells, refines open pores and congested skin to re-invigorate it. As my fiancé said afterwards to me “you’re all shiny!” which was a true testament to the change, considering his usual lack of perception!

Following the skin peels was a quick 25-minute Blue Crystallite Light Therapy which helps plump your skin and reduce the chance of breakouts.

Price:

Prices vary but are pretty darn reasonable considering the result. Treatments and products can start from $40 and go upwards from there.

My recommendation is to go into your closest Clearskincare Clinic and get a skin consultation. You can decide from there what works for you, and what you are willing to spend.

Overall rating

10/10. I could not rate this service highly enough. I would have killed for these treatments when I was in high school! If its a product that works, and is backed up by results and evidence, then I am all in!

Celebrities are known for latching onto any trend that will get the tabloids talking and garner ample attention – no matter how absurd it may be. (Drop-crotch pants? Get it together, Bieber!). However, every so often a trend will push itself into the spotlight and get fashion and beauty lovers salivating (such unsavoury behaviour). As can be seen from the lovely ladies below, whether it is a crisp copper or rich auburn, red tones warm up the face, brighten the eyes, and suit any complexion.

Some things to consider if you’re thinking about dying your hair red…

1. Take a leaf out of Coco Rocha’s book and keep it subtle.

2. Or don’t. One of the great things about red hair is that it doesn’t have to look natural in order to look great.

3.If you’re uncertain, head to a chemist and buy a rinse first to test it out.Going from red back to blonde is a pain in the hoo-ha, so make sure you’re ready to commit!

4. The more vivid the red, the more it will have to be maintained in order to keep its rich colouring. Luckily, brands such as L’Oreal and Schwarzkopf have products to help increase your colour’s longevity.
