It might sound cheesy but I get this really warm and fuzzy feeling when it gets to Christmas. The smell of our tree, the lights along the streets, the carols in stores, seeing all my friends and family…it all puts a crazy big grin on my face, and really does make you appreciate how lucky we really are!
As cliched as it is, one of my must have Christmas Cocktail dresses is ALWAYS red. It’s my colour, so that works in my favour, plus I think its the one time of the year when you can really get into the spirit. While I am all for Christmas cheer…I just can’t quite get to the point of wearing red and green, so my all time favourite colour pairing is nude or camel and red. It just looks so darn chic together.
I nabbed one of Rebecca Taylor’s dresses online and I am in love with its simplicity. Sometimes, less really is more, and the simple elegance of the cut and length of this dress with the subtle cutout back makes for the perfect Christmas outfit. Plus there is plenty of room in the waist when you’ve had one too many chocolate truffles from the hamper.
This is me, heading to one of my best friends Christmas Soiree’s, and bringing her a special Christmas Hamper treat from the amazing team at David Jones…could there be anything better than good food, good wine and the perfect dress?
