I am a long time fan of Bec & Bridge which harkens from the days when I worked the floor at David Jones. B&B brings cutting edge, quality designer duds to us at a price that won’t break the bank- which was a godsend when I was a student!
When the AWPR team invited me to take a peek at the current collection before we get to peep the new pieces hitting the runway at MBAFW I jumped at the chance.
If there is one thing I can say about this collection is that it is better in person. I am a very tactile person and love to feel fabric between my fingers. B&B doesn’t stint on quality fabrics which is a must in my books.
Key pieces from the collection for me are a pair of lovely perforated leather shots, a metallic peplum leather skirt, comfy knits in crisp colours and B&B’s classic prints.
The current A/W 2012 collection is entitled Jardin Exotica and sees an emphasis on rusts, blacks and nudes mixed with their classic prints, sleek lines and expert tailoring.
The collection takes inspiration from French post-impressionist painter Henir Rosseu and moves from a delicate cloud print to bold cherry colours and heavier knits. I defy you not to find at least one must have item for Winter!
