Vera Wang just previewed her latest Spring 2014 couture bridal collection at the New York City Bridal Market, with a edgy new aesthetic.
The collection was packed full of bold contrasting white gowns with black accents and modern silhouettes. Black harness accessories and full-length leather gloves gave the show a couture edge.
Textures of all kinds and various volumes were prevalent in the collection which seems perfect for the fashion savvy bride. Vera has described this line as her “ode to sensuality, structure, and modernity.”
Not one to shy away from the unconventional Wang has released other controversial bridal collections in the past including bold red and striking black gowns.
Key looks from this Black and White collection include a lace fishtail sleeveless gown with beautiful rose detailing which was accessorized with long black leather gloves and the harness style colour blocked gown for a daring bride
Without Wang’s expert touch this collection would have bordered on inappropriate,but her sense of whimsy and the ethereal elevated the collection to couture and dreamy.

I really like wedding dresses that are a bit different – mine included burgundy ribbons and some embroidered flowers in pinks, burgundy and green.
I may have never seen this combination before, but I think this girl looks incredibly
sweet, and beautiful. She does look classy, elegant, and very up-to-date. Loved the
contrast of the full-black leather gloves with the feminine white gown, and speaking
of which I loved the pattern. It kinda looks like more people are into alternative style,
gloves are pretty cool, indeed. I’d love to see my girlfriend wearing a beautiful dress
like that someday…
