Audrey Talks: Thirty Day Zumba Challenge, Week Four

This is the final week of our Thirty Day Zumba challenge, but the journey isn’t really stopping here for me. I was so skeptical that I would enjoy Zumba being a former dancer but the truth of the matter is…its freaking amazing! My time at Fitness First St Leonards with Kathy Bananas may be up, but I will still be shaking my hips and playing air bongos for years to come! Remember you can find out how to get involved in Kathy’s classes HERE.

I just found out that one of my best friends Zumbas weekly so we have made a pact to do it together for the rest of the year, and to me that is really what Zumba and exercise is really about. For me, its about getting fit, having fun and spending time with my girls. Our pact is to keep on with it and get those bikini bodies ready for summer! Sometimes you need the motivation of your girls to go to class or exercise on days when you just want to sit at home, eat Nutella and watch Gossip Girl.

Our final week was definitely the most fun and the most crazy! Kathy pulled me up on stage with her which was an absolute hoot. There’s a serious energy in the room, and instead of being embarrassed in front of all these people, it was liberating and fun!

Kathy really put us through our paces, moving from styles like Samba through to Hip-Hop fusion and back again. Suffice to say I was seriously exhausted by the end! The thing I have noticed most though, is that my butt and abs are what is getting toned most, which is exactly where I want to tone for summer. I find the movements work out the right parts of my body, and all muscle groups, rather than just an hour on the treadmill or cycling. Everything from your arms, to your calves, your butt and your back- the Zumba team have really thought about each movement and what it does and no movement is really included without benefiting you.

So there you have it! Thanks for coming along with me on this fluro clad, crazy ride!

I would 100% recommend this to anyone and everyone, if any of you lovely readers are ever keen for a class with Kathy Bananas, let me know!

I’d have loved zumba if I was still in my twenties!

Is it just me or does she resemble Amy Adams here? 🙂
