2015 Golden Globes: My 7 Favourite Looks

I think just about everybody enjoys playing fashion critic when it comes to analysing “who wore what” (or more accurately, “who wore WHO”) at awards ceremonies such as The Golden Globes. Given the time and money invested on these red carpet looks, it’s natural to expect a certain level of perfection. Woe betide the star whose appearance is voted anything less than #flawless! (I don’t know how they manage that pressure, frankly!)

So, in the spirit of the occasion, here are my favourite looks from the event (feel free to leave your own commentary on looks you loved or loathed in the comments below.)

1. Emma Stone in a Lanvin Jumpsuit

Emma Stone looked chic and fresh in a Lanvin jumpsuit with unexpected bow/cape attachment! Pockets for nonchalance, and loving the fact she is daring to wear pants. Image: Vanity Fair

2. Chrissy Teigan in Zuhair Murad

Chrissy Teigan shows off a stunning Zuhair Murad gown. Simple in shape yet beautifully embellished. The 29 year old model looks comfortable and confident! Image: Vanity Fair

3. Taylor Schilling in Ralph Lauren

The Orange is the New Black actress, wore an attention-grabbing, voluminous Ralph Lauren gown accented with Tiffany jewels. Clean lines, a modern/sporty neckline and ultra-pared back hair and makeup kept the look current. Image: Vanity Fair

4. Anna Kendrick in Marchesa

Clearly a more typical red-carpet look, Anna Kendrick looks painterly in a dreamy, ultra-feminine gown by Marchesa. Her skin is beautiful and this gown suits her perfectly. Image: E Online

5. Louise Roe in Jenny Packham

Louise Roe, the English television presenter, model, and fashion journalist wears a contemporary ivory gown with eye-catching draping and embellished belt by Jenny Packham. A smoky eye and romantic up-do complete the look. Image: E Online

6. Julia Goldani-Telles (designer unknown!)

The Mexican-American actress and ballet dancer opted for a bold cobalt blue gown with central panel. I love the colour and fuss-free design. Dark hair and scarlet lips look dramatic yet complimentary. Image: E Online

7. Naomi Watts in Gucci

Naomi Watts looked radiant in a sleek Gucci column dress cinched at the waist with an embellished belt. An amazing diamond Snake necklace by Bulgari and neutral clutch finishes her look. Image: E Online

I like these looks except for Julia’s dress, it’s wrinkly.

So nice red carpet dresses in Golden Globes, and I like the dress of Anna Kendrick in Marchesa.

Call me old fashioned but I love to see bling on special occasions. Out of your 7, Emma Watson is the only one wearing a necklace.

I agree with you @lisagray1, the jewels were quite absent on a lot of the looks this season!

I don’t much like number two – too many patterns.
