First of all, could you tell us a bit about your career journey so far?
I’m originally from London and started my career in fashion at iconic London cult publication, The Face, before becoming fashion editor at Company magazine, also out of the UK. My boyfriend (now husband!) and I decided to move to New York where I freelanced as a stylist working with various celebrities including Heidi Klum, Amanda Seyfried and John Legend before becoming the senior fashion editor at Lucky magazine. I was very happy to be made Fashion Director of Shopbop in July 2013.
What’s your first fashion memory?
My Barbie club membership when I was 7– they sent monthly outfits, although weirdly I can only remember one. It was a reversible vinyl red to zebra print coat and matching hat. BEAUTIFUL!
Who or what inspires you on a day to day basis?
My daughter, Honor, who wants to be a princess everyday of the week – how can you not be inspired by that!
Do you have any favourite Australian designers?
The three must have things in your wardrobe?
Helmut leather skinny jeans, Joseph striped top and Marc by Marc Jacobs leather moto jacket
Key pieces for this season?
Do you have tips for our readers when shopping online?
Check out Shopbop’s lookbooks – they are great for inspiration and also bring pieces to your attention you might have missed on the site.
What advice do you wish you could tell your younger self?
Not to worry so much!
Finally, if you could have breakfast with anyone alive or dead, who would it be and why?
I think it’s dangerous to meet your idols – in case you’re disappointed! I’d have breakfast with my Grandpop – I miss him.
