Stella McCartney’s Spring 2013 collection retains much of her sporty aesthetic while incorporating oversized tailoring for a fresh edge. Chunky jackets and bombers were paired with midi length skirts to create a different silhouette.
While the style is what you would call minimalist, the clothes are anything but quiet- mesh detailing that reveals a little skin, deep cut v necks, bold use of colour and prints, pared back against neutral white and black make for a positively vibrant collection that sings of Spring days to come. Of course, the spring days I speak of involve Moet, jetsetting and wads of cash, but a girl can dream right?
There is something unmistakably covetable about McCartney’s pieces. More than anything, she knows the female form, and is not afraid to take risks. This season, mesh detailed dresses in bright splashes of colour spoke for the collection and the kind of woman McCartney intends to dress. A woman who is independent, bold, and unapologetic of her success.
