The beauty blogosphere has long lauded the incredible Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Radiant Touch, so the release of the YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation is definitely cause to sit up and take notice.
PACKAGING
Lets face it, part of the lure of the luxury beauty brand is luxe packaging, and in this YSL does not disappoint. Elegant, simple and understated, the Le Teint Touche Eclat bottle is hefty which I like in my foundations, with a very convenient pump dispenser. The YSL embossed inscription makes the golden lid that extra bit more special when sitting amongst the many other bottles on my table. The Touche Eclat Radiant Touch comes, as you all probably know in a travel friendly, luxe gold pen complete with ball point-esque clicker that pushes more of that pure magic illuminator to the brush. All in all, a very handsome duo.
PRODUCT AND APPLICATION
Considering I am coming out of winter and into summer my skin is still a little paler than it will be in the coming weeks. The colour that I have is definitely too dark right now (Beige Rose) but would definitely work with my skin tone come the warmer months. For now, I have mixed it in with one of my lighter foundations to get a healthy glow.
The texture for the Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation is relatively thick for a liquid, pump dispensed foundation, but definitely not too thick as to spread difficultly or feel as if it is instantly clogging your pores. I always use a primer, so after my prep routine this foundation really slid onto my skin with ease and really gave me a natural looking coverage that still hid all my blemishes (so very important). There is a definite feel as if the foundation is weightless and almost as if it is nourishing the skin. Often times with full coverage foundation I feel like my pores are clogged but not with this.
Onto one of my very, very favourite products- the Touche Eclat Radiant Touch pen that dispenses liquid brilliance in the form of an illuminator. I am using Luminous Vanilla (2.5) and it works, to a point, as a concealer as well as illuminator. I wear foundation most days, but I have tried this just for a quick face boost on my way to the shops and it lifts the face, especially the eyes. I also use this as a contouring tool, under the eyes, in the hollow of the chin and straight down the nose to accentuate my favourite features. The brush is soft, easy to use and helps to distribute the product easily, especially if you accidentally click the button too many times (something I am definitely guilty of!). With a little working with fingers, a brush or sponge, the formula very easily blends into your skin. When I say liquid brilliance I really mean it- its amazing how something so simple can change so much!
OVERALL VERDICT
There is obviously a huge amount of science, R&D and research that goes into both of these products and I am sure my understanding of how these products seem to make your skin luminous and dewy is pretty minimal so lets just say this, whatever you are doing…keep it up!
Yes this is a splurge product- but you need to treat yourself every once in awhile!
