A nifty little product that has been embraced by beauty gurus and professionals in the industry, OCC Lip Tars are a fun and inexpensive way to experiment with a wide array of unusual colours.
Lip tars are a liquid lipstick with a tattoo effect, designed to last all day on the lips without need of touch-ups. They come in a stunning range of colours from your classic pinks, reds and nudes to electric blue, yellow and sage. They can be worn alone but many of the colours are actually designed for mixing, so you can mix up different colours to achieve one to your own liking!
The lip tars are packaged in a simple squeeze-tube with a white cap, the minimalistic look being quite characteristic of indie brands like OCC. Very basic and clean, so if you’re a fan of flashy packaging you’re definitely not going to get it with OCC. The product, however, more than makes up for the plain casing. Each lip tar is densely pigmented, so much to the point that you needn’t use more than a grain sized amount each time. All the lip tars are true to colour and one swipe is more than enough for full opacity.
One of the selling points of these lip tars is the claim that they last all day. I am yet to find a lip product that actually lives up to that claim but these do come close! I noticed a tiny bit of feathering after about 7 hours of wear and by the end of the day most of the product had faded to leave a noticeable stain.
These can be a little difficult to find, but you can find them in Lehved in Surry Hills for $10 each. You can also order online.
What do you all think of these lip tars? How about long-lasting lip products in general- do they live up to the claim? Let me know!
