Over the decades, denim has undeniably solidified it’s position as the most fundamental item within a wardrobe, favoured for it’s versatility and suitability for every demography. Not even the test of time has been able to deter these, prominent through its ability to assimilate with contemporary trends of the time.
The current denim trend I am absolutely loving is printed jeans. Seen on almost every on-trend celebrity; Whitney Port, K-Stew, Khloe Kardashian Odom, Kristen Cavallari to name a few.
Every winter I question why, as soon as it turns cold and gloomy outside, everyone chooses to epitomise this with their clothing choices. No wonder the chilly season makes us all cold and cranky.
This printed denim trend could not come at a better time, with the vibrant and quirky colours and patterns, these jeans not only work to uplift our moods, but keep our legs warm, add a touch of edginess, and fight off the unexplainable pull towards the humdrum tones of greys and blacks.
Work the trend:
When sporting this trend, the idea is to have the pants as centre focus, which means keeping everything else to a minimum ( unless, of course, you’ve mastered the art of mixed prints).
For the winter months, team these with a basic, monotonous long sleeved top, tucked in, and a leather jacket for an edgy look, and, depending on your mood, pair with a simple pair of flats or wedges to further draw attention to the print ( and lets face it, it makes our pins look great too).
Another great aspect of this trend is that it caters to everyone, with bolder prints for the more adventurous, and softer, more feminine ones for the more relaxed type. Win,win I’d say.
