Former Creative Director Louise Bell founded Table Tonic out of a frustration with the limited market of affordable, on-trend homewares in Australia.
The online homewares store stocks a selection of handmade and vintage items ranging from textiles, to soft furnishings and jewellery. The pieces are sourced from all over the world including Afghanistan, India, Africa, Mexico and Uzbekistan as well as Great Britain and Australia.
In Louise’s words “I was constantly frustrated and disappointed by the fact that the hottest international interior design and decorating trends only trickled down as far as the high-end retail outlets and decor magazines in Australia. There was simply no way for the middle income earner to achieve a current, on-trend aesthetic in their home. They had no choice but to admire from afar – through the pages in a magazine, in a shop window, or on one of several international online stores who didn’t ship to Australia.”
Louise also has a delightful homewares blog of the same name (Table Tonic), which you should definitely check out for all things inspiration.
