IXIAH (pronounced ex’ sy’ ah’) is one of the most exciting labels to come out of Sydney this year. Designer Krystel Davis founded the brand with an focused brand aesthetic that features beautiful textures, unique prints and unique silhouettes that truly make the brand a cut from the rest.
Davis is well known for her intelligent use of raw elements, embellishments and cutouts with clever tailoring and as such as garnered a celebrity following from the likes of Nicole Richie, Megan Gale, Isabel Lucas and Jessica Hart.
The key to Krystel’s designs is that while they are unique and certainly bold, they are not unwearable. You can pare pieces down with neutral tones and basics for a softer look or go all out and layer pieces head to toe if you are more bold.
It is this idea of luxe wearability that is clear in the Ixiah Spring 2012 Collection. This offering is all about texture that gives dimension and artform to garments and allows you to view them in a whole new light.
Says Davis of her design process, ” I prefer the trend of thought, which ultimately offers an unrestrained greenlight into one’s own sense of style, this can then be expressed through the language of fashion”.
