Australia’s celebrated luxury accessories label Oroton made its runway debut at fashion week on Wednesday giving the much loved brand the perfect platform to showcase their first apparel collection.
The highly anticipated show which was expertly styled by the internationally renowned Taylor Tomasi Hill opened with the face of Oroton’s latest campaign Samantha Harris wearing an amazing silk ensemble that featured the ‘hero plaited rope print’ in electric blue.
Inspired by designer Ana Maria Escobar’s South American heritage, the colour palette throughout was a mixture of the bold with bright pinks, oranges and blues set against soft neutrals which gave the collection balance.
As has been the norm this week relaxed tailoring proved popular once again as shirts, fitted skirts, slim high-waisted trousers, sharp blazers and shorts continued down the runway. Thrown into the mix were a host of two-toned knitted jumpers, slouchy sporty jackets and hoodies worn over the top of several one piece swimsuits in various prints and colours.
The accessories were also a stand out, as expected, with large backpacks embellished with their signature silk scarves, tan leather sandals, covetable sunglasses, textured skinny belts as well as oversized beach towels – which the models carried rolled up under their arms as if nonchalantly strolling a local beachside promenade somewhere – in glorious abundance.
It was a stylish and wearable first collection which really showcased sports-luxe at its very finest.
