The beauty looks for Ksubi S/S 2012 collection is all about the future urban warrior and the demolishing of heritage and survival but still remaining beautifull
Make up director of Maybelline Nigel Stanislaus describes the look as being ”all about the eye and creating a raw and edgy street look that would fit their new directional collection by complimenting both prints and metallic finishes”
So in keeping with true Ksubi aesthetic grunge look, watered down smokey eyes were created with an aggressive lash and what seemed to be a virtually untouched base.
A few tips to recreate this look is start the eyes before the base, use a metallic eye shadow like the Maybelline Eye Studio Colour Tattoo in Audacious Asphalt and use a concealer brush to run along the lid and blend it upwards and below.
After this use a black eyeliner, Nigel recommends Maybelline Line express, put it into water line in 2 corners then smudge it out, don’t be afraid to be tough it’s supposed to be grungy and blend it out top and bottom to get that thundering look. Finish with Falsies Flash Mascara and coat the lashes till they become quite spiky and aggressive. For the flawless skin finish, no powder was used, only a combination of a light foundation and Colour Tattoo Eye-shadow in Bad to Bronze to contour and Too Cool to highlight and create a soft sheen on the cheeks.
