Harper’s Bazaar’s L’Oreal Paris Runway 7 was by far the most dramatic of the runway shows.
The hair channeled Chanel in a sleek, wet look up do that was adorned with pearls. The show featured some of Australia’s most talented “after five” designers including Alex Perry, Tony Maticevski, Aurelio Costarella, Collette Dinnigan, Camilla and Marc, Rachel Gilbert and Scanlan and Theodore.
This is not the first time I have seen Alex Perry this LMFF, but I was reminded of how much I enjoy this current collection- full of metallics, lace and thigh high splits.
Aurelio Costarella, as always maintained a ladylike hemlines featuring feathers, demure hemlines and a colour palette consisting of deep bronzes and blacks.
Cocktail dresses from Camilla and Marc were simplistic and played with fit and form. Silhouettes range from a drop waist ruffle to a slinky white cap sleeved cocktail dress.
Collette Dinnigan, who is one of most celebrated exports showed us why the French adore her so much. Handsewn beading, lace, sheers, and sequins. Dinnigan has also made efforts to change up tailoring providing drop waists as well as feminine, form fitting numbers.
If you want to stand out from the crowd in a shower of sequins, Rachel Gilbert is the designer for you, and Scanlan and Theodore has some fashion forward pieces in on trend A/W colours.
Highlight of the night was of course, Toni Maticevski. All drama, sequins and breathtaking gowns- just a taster of the Toni Maticevski show (soon to come!).
