According to Phillip Lim, his latest Fall 2012 collection toys with the “idea of modern-day superheroes who are walking around us every day,” (Style.com).
Unlike other designers we shall not name (cough, Jeremy Scott) subtlety is not lost on Lim. There may have been an appearance of a cape in reference to superhero-esque garb but the collection and structure of the garments was wholeheartedly modern and hardly costume-y.
Smooth monochromatic tones are punctuated with subtle autumnal colours such as forest greens and burnt oranges with just a hint of metallic.
While the collection is nothing ground breaking, Lim stays true to his aesthetic and has produced something that is covetable and is definitely set to fly right off the racks.
