Here in the office, Pip (my partner in crime) is always WAY more tanned than I am which makes me cry inside because I am consistently so damn pasty. It’s not that I am pasty, just that Pip is a serious beaches girl with the sun, sand and surf running through her veins and I find I am hard pressed to get any sun action.

I know I know, embrace your looks, pale skin is in…but sometimes a girl just wants that fresh faced tan that seems to drop kilos from your frame as if by magic.

Since my little trip up to Hervey Bay where I finally managed to get my tan on (responsibly of course, SPF 30 all the way). I wanted to prolong that “I just swanned back into the office from Ibiza” look. Enter Palmers Natural Bronze gradual tanning lotion.

I have dabbled in gradual tanning for a couple of years but I have to admit with other products I felt slimy after application which made for a poor nights sleep.

Not so with Palmers!

PRODUCT:

This product boasts a touch of self tanner along with a special combination of Cocoa Butter and Vitamin E.

Honestly this is one of the best body moisturizing products I have used in a long time, and the added bonus is that I get a natural tan out of it! The pigmentation is more brown than orange which is always a good thing.

After letting the moisturizer dry, the feeling is not greasy or slimy at all but a really nice dry, smooth finish.

APPLICATION:

As Palmers suggests “For best results, apply evenly once daily or as often as necessary to achieve the desired level of colour. Wash hands after use.” Wash hands after use being the key thing to take away from this. no one wants Oompa Loompa hands. It comes with a handy pump applicator which I much prefer to a squeezy bottle because once you have moisturizer on your hands everything is too slippery!

RATING: 9 out of 10.

PURCHASE: RRP$12.95, you can purchase online at ChemistWarehouse.com.au or at good pharmacies like Priceline.

I’m wondering if this will work on me, I need a good tan, but I’m so white that even gradual tan looks weird on me.

Here’s the ingredient list:

Water, Isopropyl Palmitate, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter, Stearyl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Propylene Glycol, Bentonite, Lanolin Alcohol, Fragrance, Eruthrulose, Tocopheryl Acetate, Diazolidinyl Urea, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Methylparaben, Citric Acid, Propylparaben, Disodiom EDTA, Dihydroxyacetone, Benzyl Alcohol, Yellow 5, Orange 4. Calling it natural or even healthy is a stretch. Lush sell solid body tints and the last time I checked lotion versions too, they’re not completely natural either but it’s better than Palmers. Or go natural and use olive or walnut oil.

yes i agree with the latter

I’m definately going to try this, I have fair skin and a fake tan is my only tan…because I have been using fake tans since the very first(and only) Coppertone “fake tan” my best tip to avoid the dreaded tan-hands is to wear those tight disposible gloves they do a brilliantly smooth application job !!
