This is my must have foundation when it comes to controlling my oily t-zone- Double Wear Stay-In-Place is a liquid foundation which dries matte, perfect for controlling any shine! Not to be confused with the Double Wear Light, this Estee Lauder foundation gives you medium to heavy coverage.
PRODUCT:
This product boasts ‘15-hour staying power,’ and yes, the foundation I will classify as long wearing, but I have never left my makeup on that long to acknowledge this claim- it is safe to say this foundation will probably not budge for 6 or so hours anymore and there is a bit of slip and slide from personal experience (under no primer).
This foundation comes in 14 shades, in my opinion catering more for those with neutral and pink tones. Sun protection is a must for me always, with an SPF of 10, this foundation receives a tick. Additional details include the product being “oil-free, dermatologist-tested, non acnegenic and fragrance free,” all important factors- no one wants awful smelling makeup on the surface of their face all day long, nor to break out after use!
In terms of packaging, this foundation comes in a sturdy glass jar with gold screw top lid. I would love a pump bottle as the product is exposed directly to your fingers when you pour it out, but alas this can’t be helped. There is 30ml of product similar to most other foundations and it will put you $68 out of pocket which you can purchase here at Esteelauder.com.au
APPLICATION:
To avoid highlighting patchy dry skin, ALWAYS moisturise before application. I prefer to apply this foundation with clean fingers, specifically because I feel it helps warm up and spread the foundation. If this is considered unhygienic, use a stippling brush for an air brushed look and to conceal any pigmentation, scars, or pimples. Once initial foundation is dry dab a bit more product on– for a natural looking complexion. Set with loose powder if you are planning to be papped! For lighter coverage mix with a bit of moisturiser as it will help thin out the formula!
RECOMMENDATION:
I’ve tried many foundations in my time and this is the best one I have come across thus far! The formula though thick in terms of consistency glides easily over ones face, and does not require quick application, it’s buildable and blends well. Just in case this foundation is not for you make sure to be colour matched by one of the ladies at the Estee Lauder counter, and ask for a take home sample, this will last you quite a while and hopefully the results are what you expect.
RATING:
I rate this product 9/10, it’s expensive once again, but it works wonders in masking the bothersome imperfections and evening out skin tone!
