Etsy is a wonderful world of quirky handmade and vintage goods. It’s like a little nook of the internet reserved only for the super cool and kooky, and it’s a nook I spend far too much time in, so here are a few of my favourite Etsy stores -
Krukru Studio
Made from 100% felt, these novelty bags are the epitome of spectacular. Do you want to store your belongings in watering cans, pumpkins, fire extinguishers and violins? In reality it doesn’t sound very sane or practical but Krukru Studio makes it all possible with the help of a bit of felt and a bit of imagination.
Wearable Planter
I’ve never been much of a gardener. My thumb is about as green as a brick wall. But I can pretend for a moment that I do with these gorgeous hand-made acrylic pots made to be worn around your neck. Unfortunately it doesn’t include the plant in it but the pots itself are made out of the stuff of gardening dreams. Maybe I can plant carrots in it and never have to buy lunch again.
Hug a Porcupine
The name of this cute little Etsy label walks the line between adorable and dangerous. I’m not sure I would want to hug a porcupine but what I am sure about is that these geometric origami beauties are what I want to adorn every inch of my body with.
Doodle Bird Imaginariums
Doodle Bird Imaginariums make teeny-tiny, terrific terraniums. Made with real-ass grass and a whole lot of love, these glass bowls of life don’t take much to maintain and keep – making it perfect for someone like me…I ruin everything I touch.
Cartoon Monster
I bet you can’t guess what this does. Crank the little wooden handle and it spins out a little tune and the wooden waves roll. Take a look at the video if you don’t believe me. Over 80% of the materials used to make these automatons are scrap from thrift stores, so it’s magical AND eco-friendly.
Pretty Little World Vintage
With a stunning selection of kimonos and hardcore hand-curated vintage from the 20s-80s, Pretty Little World Vintage is the real thing. They specialise in kimonos, meaning it’s my favourite new place on the internet.
