A little burst of excitement came over me when I discovered the OPI Glittery Lacquers, although I am not sure whether it was from my memory of my glitter obsession phase I had as a teenager, or just the urge to try something a little different from my usual plain colour nail routine.
This new OPI collection is a collaboration with The Muppet’s to help celebrate the release of their new movie hitting cinemas 5th January 2012. The collection comprises of 6 colours which are all inspired by everyone’s favourite Muppet Characters and songs from the movie. Make sure you check out the cute trailer below as well.
After using the OPI Glittery Lacquer, here are a few of my top tips to remember if you are trialing the look:
- Always use a base coat
- Use a colour underneath if you want the glitter to stand out more. I used “Honk If You Love OPI”
- Apply 2 coats of the Glitter Laquer for a more intense finish. I used OPI’s “Rainbow Connection”
- It takes a little longer than a usual polish to dry, so don’t be too hasty in heading off to the bathroom…I made that mistake and had to re do!
- Always use a top coat to seal and your mani will last longer.
