Fashion week exhaustion has hit the industry but it doesn’t mean the shows stop coming or stop wowing. This year marks the 90th birthday of one of the most revered fashion houses worldwide.
Head designer Frida Giannini told Style.com backstage that the references to Art Deco were merely coincidence saying ”I like the architectural shapes, especially the New York skyscrapers of the period,” (Style.com).
The collection emanates classic Milanese style, in its understated sex appeal with splashes of copper and on trend green.
Tailoring was on the masculine side in its square cut dresses and power pantsuits, but the femininity was in the sheer fabrics and sequinned numbers.
All in all, a great reflection of the Gucci aesthetic- one that is sure to be a hit on the red carpet and among the brands loyal clientele.
