Giles: LFW Spring 2012 RTW

Giles Deacon must have a thing for swans if this collection is anything to go by. Deacon said the collection is not about Black Swan, rather drawing inspiration from influences such as the Slimbridge Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust-  that are wetlands and grounds that are a safe home for the world’s largest collection of swans, ducks, flamingos and geese, Cecil Beaton society portraits and The Bowes Museum’s Silver Swan musical automaton sculpture.

All these ideas came together to create a beautifully tailored collection featuring  luxe water coloured swans printed on silks and silver lazer cut leather dresses. Accents of red and orange made for the perfect contrast against the whites, cream and harsh silvers. Finally exquisite swan headdresses, beginning with the white, and travelling to black and blood red made for the perfect styling pieces to highlight the main inspiration behind the collection.
