Karla Spetic’s offering for S/S which we had the pleasure of viewing earlier this year at RAFW (RAFW no longer! Now MBAFW) is entitled “Porcelain”.
This was Spetic’s fourth consecutive individual show at Fashion Week and it is not hard to see why the designer has fast become an iconic high end Australian label.
This collection takes inspiration from interior objects, vases and ornaments and still life articles.
In true Karla Spetic aesthetic, the cut and tailoring of the fabrics create a fluid and original silhouette that are flattering to the female form.
Spetic described this season’s girl as “…a unique and interesting girl who has an unrivaled imagination and a ‘one of a kind’ personality”.
The collection is aptly named ‘Porcelain’ in reference to its fragility in fluid lines and movement yet with solid sensibilities.
For me, of particular note are the high necked cuts paired with thigh high splits and those incredibly unique and detailed cutouts across the bust. Don’t forget the bold bright fuchsia, cobalt’s and tangerines!
The line drops into stores September!
