Emilio Pucci Fall 2011 RTW at Milan Fashion Week

Emilio Pucci’s A/W 11/12 collection may very well be a favourite amongst the men in our lives. Designer Peter Dundas has done away with the bare lengthy legs long associated with the label and replaced them with non other than every male’s favourite two pieces of female anatomy. This season, Pucci is all about bust.

Collars and bows both accentuated and offset cleavage and the cut out panels around the décolletage made me feel as though I was peeking through a window into the debaucherous side of elegant women.

Leafy prints, puffy shouldered jackets and suede pants eluded to the hunting reference point described in the show notes while rich colours such as royal purple and deep crimson gave it a regal feel. Other triumphs include the beautiful gold embroidery on black figure hugging dresses that rivaled those of Alexander McQueen and the floor length evening gowns, which are sure to be seen on red carpets in the coming months.

There were many hits in Pucci’s fabulous show but there were also a few misses. None more worrisome than when Carola Remer lost her ensemble and was reduced to wearing a blue feather duster down the runway.
